A guy walks into a bar. Like any good musical story, this one begins with a song … and a bar.

Just about a decade ago, singer/songwriter, Josh Brannon, found himself with a night off … time to relax, think about his music and band he wanted to form for his special brand of “Genuine Country.” The South Carolina native and avid outdoorsman walked into a bar where fiddle man, Worth King, (a native of Muscle Shoals, AL) was sitting in with a local band … and Brannon took notice.

That was nearly a decade ago, and the rest is history.

Josh and Worth began performing as a duo, writing songs together, and eventually establishing the Josh Brannon Band in 2010. The group, based in Myrtle Beach, has recorded two albums, produced two music videos, and toured extensively throughout the Southeast. Notable performances include an annual appearance at the Labor Day weekend NASCAR race in Darlington, SC., and the group’s own ‘Home in Carolina Music Festival’ each May in Boiling Springs, SC.

Josh and Worth handle most of the songwriting for the group, which proudly characterizes its music as “Genuine Country,” inspired by ‘90s Country and Texas/Red Dirt artists. The Josh Brannon Band is produced by Billy Lawson, who has written two number one hits – “I Left Something Turned on at Home” (Trace Adkins) and “Learning as You Go” (Rick Trevino). Lawson also has cuts by George Strait, Tim McGraw, and many others.

The guys have had the opportunity to open for many of their own musical heroes, including Chris Young, Sammy Kershaw, Clay Walker, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Cody Jinks, The Steeldrivers, and Casey Donahew Band.

The Josh Brannon Band actively supports a variety of charitable causes. The band performs each July for the annual Saddle Up for St. Jude event in Tuscumbia, AL. The benefit for St. Jude Children’s Hospital is the largest of its kind in the U.S. and has raised $2 million to date. Another favorite charity is Catch the Vision; a non-profit organization that constructs residential structures to house missionaries in foreign countries. Josh Brannon himself recently traveled to St. Croix to help build three bunk houses.

The Josh Brannon Band is Matt Parks (Fiddle, Backup Vocals); John Spulka (Bass Guitar); Tanner Beck (Lead Guitar); Rob Brennan (Drums): and Josh Brannon (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar).
